Clinical Evidence - Neuromonics Clinical Outcomes
A clinical study in the USA recently published in the leading International journal “Ear & Hearing” found that the Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment provides rapid, large and consistent improvement to the severity of tinnitus symptoms and their effect on the subject’s quality of life.
91% of all subjects reported a reduction in Tinnitus disturbance of at least 40% , with an average improvement of 65%.
Also, 80% of subjects reported that the level of their Tinnitus disturbance reduced so much as not to be any more significant.
The treatment was reported as being pleasant and easy to use by a high proportion of trial subjects.
Sharon Sandridge, PhD, director, Audiology Clinical Services, Head and Neck Institute, at Cleveland Clinic, presented the data of a recent multi-site US study which evaluated 45 patients with varying forms of tinnitus.
The study, based on the Tinnitus Handicap Questionnaire, reported Tinnitus disturbance decreased by 44% following the 6 month treatment. This represents a clinically significant improvement.
From Annals of Otology, Rhinology, Laryngology Volume 117, Number 11, November 2008 "Treatment resulted in rapid and consistent improvement in patients who satisfied various predefined suitability criteria, and in those who had preciously tried other treatments without success."
"...78% of the improvement had been achieved by the transition appointment, which took place on an average of 10 weeks after beginning treatment"
From "The Hearing Review" , USA, February 2010. "A new Model for Tinnitus Treatment" "This collaborative, rather than directive treatment, approach has been effective in reducing tinnitus disturbance" "..A controlled study was formed comparing subjects receiving the Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment versus broadband noise and counselling, and counselling only. Results after 6 months showed 86% of the patients using the Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment had clinical improvement in Tinnitus disturbance compared to 47% and 23% of patients respectively.."
